Sustainably & locally crafted in SA | 100% of net profits fund female athletes

Herefor thewholestory.

A woman at a race expo holds up a roll of Here for the Women's Race stickers, grinning, wearing the tee.

It started as a sticker

In June 2024, at the Western States Endurance Run in California, a small group printed a sentence on a roll of stickers and a box of shirts: Here for the women's race. The men's race got the cameras; the women's race got people wearing the sentence at every aid station, and at the finish line at three in the morning. By the next season it was at races on four continents.

Then it came home

Here for the Women's Race SA (Pty) Ltd holds the trade mark in South Africa. We are a for-profit social enterprise, not a charity: a premium apparel brand and an events company whose net profit, all of it, becomes grants for female endurance athletes. The structure is deliberate. Companies can fund us from a marketing budget or an SED budget; philanthropists can give through verified partner PBOs and get a Section 18A receipt; and every rand is published on the Impact page.

What we believe

  • The women's race is the race. Equal purses, equal coverage, equal start lines.
  • Money, not motivation, is what keeps most women off the start line. So we move money.
  • Made here means something. Local blanks, local print, local jobs.
  • Show the receipts. If we cannot publish it, we should not be doing it.

Mission

To dismantle financial barriers in South African women’s endurance sport by turning sustainable local merchandise drops and commercial events into transparent athlete capital. (Default wording from the brief; to be confirmed.)
